"Is a new monthly alternative music night Gypo (Ballagroove) and I have set up at Bushy's Basement Bar (under the Rovers Return). We'll be manning the decks from 6.30pm till midnight and each month we'll be showcasing one of the best of the island's bands live during the evening. For the first session, we have for your delectation the not inconsiderable talents of Gratiz 3, with more top bands and acoustic sets from the Island and the UK already lined up for the summer months. We also have a cracking roster of alternative DJs who'll be helping us out as things progress to keep it fresh...
Music policy's pretty much 'if it's good, we'll play it', so expect a mix of the coolest recent stuff, punk/new-wave/indie classics and sounds from even further out there that have to be heard to be believed...love of the music is all that matters!
If you're not too familiar with what the Basement Bar has to offer, there's ample space for a spot of pogoing by the stage, a well-stocked bar of decent size with a live TV relay of what's happening onstage, and also a comfy chillout chamber into which we intend to throw a few recent music mags and books if you fancy a bit of a read or debate while the sounds are playing...
It's all free and will hopefully prove not only a half-decent evening in itself, but also we hope a regular haunt where ideas can be exchanged and plots hatched across the scene as a whole...but of course it'll be very much what you make of it!
Session One's on 28th May, the first Saturday of TT fortnight, with the second session already set for Saturday 18th June.
If you know anyone who might also be interested, please pass the word on and/or bang the attached poster up somewhere where you think it'll catch a few eyes..."

Press Quotes for Chris T-T
Sunday Times (Top 5 Album of the Year 2003) -
"Fantastically intricate masterpieces... utterly indispensable... genius... a modern-day Blake."
The Guardian (4 Stars) -
"The genius of Chris T-T's songwriting is his ability to humanise even the most outlandish conceits. They seem instead like brilliant ideas that no-one else could've come up with."
