GLASTONMARY

Ballagroove DJ’s with Live Acts -"CampStar” and “Dub Fellaghs Sound System”

Saturday 25th June 2011
8pm to Midnight
Bay View Hotel, Port St Mary

FREE Entry / FANCY DRESS

We’ve been invited by the good folk at Dirty South to DJ again at The Bay View Hotel, Port St Mary

This time instead of adding Live Surf and Harp to the mix we’ve got Live Blues and Electronic Dub - variety a go go !

"CampStar" are basically an acoustic duo featuring compositions from Simon Campbell and Suzy Starlite. Suzy plays acousto-punk with a couple of powerful ballads, empathetically inspired by the human condition... Simon is developing an acoustic set ready for his next album. Tracks to date feature stomping blues and some majestic acoustic pieces.

Providing us with some smooth Ambient Electronic Dub will be “Dub Fellaghs Sound System” (a pseudonym for one of Ballagroove’s regular artists) as another warm up for their set at Mannifest Festival in August - the last gig at the Bay Port Erin was Dubtastic so we are well excited to welcome them back.

Ballagroove DJ’s will be playing the (un)usual mix of Funk, Soul, Reggae, Indie, World Music, 60’s pop, Boogaloo, Jazz, Psych - in other words there will be a wild mix of stuff played J, there will be no Coldpl*y, U* or Beyon*e that’s fer sure ;-)

FANCY DRESS theme is 'Happy Campers' so basically get dressed as if you were going to Glastonbury - crazier the better ;-)

The last party down the Bay View was real fun with a great crowd and some top freaky dancing, lets hope we can do it all again !

Now with added 'Dub Fellaghs Well Sound System' who will be playing a live electronic dub set in the middle of the evening as a rehearsal for their gig at Mannifest later in the summer - we'll be videoing it to put up on youtube, so put on your worst fancy dress and dance like a loon then you can laugh at yerself on youtube :-)
