Safetyword on XFM

XFM UnsignedOooh, just got a mail saying that our lovely buddies Safetyword are being showcased on XFM Unsigned next week. They'll be on Claire Sturgess's show on Wednesday, 1st March starting at 9pm till 11pm. You can listen live over the internet at XFM Unsigned, or you can listen to all the tracks here and vote for your favourite one. The winner will be replayed on Shaun Keaveny's morning show on Friday between 10:00 and 1pm and is excellent exposure for up & coming bands, XFM have a massive listenership and command a lot of respect amongst the indie crowd.

Please support the boys & Ballagroove by giving Safetyword a vote, it'd mean a lot to us and I'm sure it'd mean a lot to them!

Safetyword – Foreskin O’ the Heart EP

Safetyword - Foreskin O' the HeartOoooohhhh. The new Safetyword EP is out and from my first few listens it's giving me the tingles :) Foreskin O' the Heart is typical of the 'word: odd & intricate, wonderful & delicate, tight & taught. OK, OK, I'll stop with the word pairings -- rubber & chicken (sorry, couldn't help that one ;) ) -- but I always find it hard to describe music, especially something as unique as Safetyword. It's kind of like eating strange things such as queenies, frogs' legs, or witchitty grubs: you're somewhat put-off by the appearance at first, but then realise they're an acquired taste and actually shockingly tasty; after a while you can't get enough :)
We love Safetyword, not (only) 'cause they friends and we've released some of their stuff, but because they're amazing musicians who're stunning talented and deserve to do really well. Go and buy their EP now, you honestly won't regret it.

Land of Fu featuring Safetyword

Time: 8pm till late?
Venue: The Porter Cellar Bar, Bath, UK.
Price: Free

Dan from the 'word says:

Special gig this one.
Safetyword will be playing a 1.5 hour set - probably in two parts. The first part will be "quiet" including all the songs the band don't usually play live, as well as several old and new songs. The second part will be Safetyword "as usual" i.e. louder and more upbeat. Again, lots of new material and some old stuff not aired for a while.
Should be a top night so get there if it's humanly possible!

This gig is Bristol's Venue magazine's recommended gig of the week, and it's even free, so what are you waiting for?

More details are available on the Porter Cellar Bar's Lineup Page along with ticket ordering info, but don't let that stop you visiting the Safetyword Gigs Page for the latest info though!
